Palmerton, PA Branding

A Pennsylvania Mining Town Moves Beyond Toxic History of Denuded Mountains and Contaminated Creeks

Palmerton is currently the location of the Palmerton Zinc Superfund site, the largest EPA cleanup site east of the Mississippi River. As a part of the restoration of the Lehigh Gap Nature Center, that began in 2002, Palmerton is underway to revitalizing the town’s brand. Considering Palmerton is home to the highest skiing vertical and is in close proximity to the Appalachian trail, this town has all the beginnings to make it the perfect destination for travelers seeking outdoor adventure.

The most distinguishable vista in town features the infamous red rock, historical “house on the hill,” views of the Lehigh Valley Water Gap and those giant vertical mountains; all of which we decided to utilize in the branding elements.
